Gerard began his real estate career in 1990 shortly after graduating from Louisiana State University with a degree in Economics. Since that time, he has transacted over 1,000 sales and leases in the office and industrial market valued in excess of $400,000,000 and has been recipient of dozens of top awards from the Commercial Investment Division of the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors (NOMAR), including Real Estate Deal of the Year (2019, 2018), Top Industrial Lease (2021, 2019), Top Industrial Broker of the Year (2018), Top Industrial Sale (2018), Office Lease of the Year (2018) and Largest Transaction Award (2017).

In addition to client representation, he frequently offers consulting services to local and national lending institutions, attorneys, developers and property owners throughout the state.

Gerard is an active member of the Society of Office and Industrial Realtors (SIOR) and a past board member of the Commercial Investment Division of NOMAR. He holds Louisiana and Mississippi Real Estate Broker’s licenses as well as a Louisiana Auctioneers license. He currently is the Vice President of Max J. Derbes, Inc. and a principal of the firm.
