Since joining Max J. Derbes, Inc. in January of 2007, Jimmy has expanded our commercial sales and leasing division. Specializing in the office market, Jimmy has experience in sales and leasing on both sides of the table. His experience extends beyond office, as he has successfully completed industrial, land and investment transactions, as an agent with Max Derbes.

Jimmy has represented Chevron, Stiel Insurance Services, Amerigroup, BELFOR, BCG Engineering & Consulting, Robichaux Automation & Control, Inc, Curry and Friend, PLC, Moxie Media and other reputable local, regional and national tenants. He has assisted on the landlord side through leasing services and the disposition of investment property.

Jimmy served as a Director for the Commercial Investment Division (CID) of the New Orleans Metropolitan Area Realtors board. He is a candidate for the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, and has completed CCIM Courses 101, 102, 103 and 104. CID awarded Jimmy the CID Outstanding Achievement Award in 2011 for attaining sales in excess of $3,000,000. He was Chairman of the Board of Managers for the Louisiana Commercial Database for the year of 2011 and has been actively involved in the Board since 2008.

Prior to joining our firm, Jimmy worked in construction for Tom Papa (local developer) in Richmond, VA, renovating a historic warehouse building into loft/studio apartments. As a college intern, he assisted successful commercial/industrial broker Birck Turnbull at Thalhimer, Cushman & Wakefield by cataloging building ownerships, collecting market data and managing investment properties in Richmond’s Historic Fan District.

Jimmy attended the University of Georgia and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Terry College of Business with a concentration in Real Estate.
